Victor Moreno, a professional photographer in Maricopa, Arizona, invited local companies to join him in helping Maricopa High School Seniors by sponsoring their senior photo sessions. Victor offered a discounted rate to any company that would do so. ACP Painting, LLC, quickly responded by offering to pay for 5 seniors’ photos.
Grateful Seniors
With the COVID-19 pandemic, most students throughout the country were not able to participate in the typical graduation ceremony. Being deprived of this celebration for all their hard work was quite a letdown. The gesture to sponsor their photography session was a way to offer some positivity to an otherwise disappointing situation.
ACP Painting didn’t think twice about sponsoring these seniors. As Russ Byers, co-founder of ACP states,
“This was a small thing for us to do, but such a big impact for these kids. They now have a beautiful, lifelong reminder of their accomplishment and this first step into adulthood. Big thanks to Victor Moreno Photography for creating this opportunity!”
The five seniors who received the free photo sessions are featured below.
Jeremiah Ballard
Jeremiah honored his commitment to Central Arizona College’s “Promise for the Future” scholarship. Maintaining his GPA throughout high school as well as completing 20 hours of volunteer work earned Jeremiah a tuition-free education from CAC. Jeremiah plans to attend CAC in the Fall and will later attend Northern Arizona University to study Graphic Design.
Emma Cruz
During her four years at MHS, Emma was involved in a symphonic band and was a member of the MHS Performance Dance troupe. Graduating in the top 10% of the class, she earned herself a full-tuition scholarship to Central Arizona College. Emma is uncertain of her major but wants a career helping others.
Jaren Delulio
While attending MHS, Jaren carried a full course load of honors classes. He also played trombone in MHS’ award-winning Marching Band and in Concert and Symphonic Bands. Jaren is headed to Arizona State University to pursue a degree in architecture.
Haley Lemon
Haley had the honor of graduating as the MHS class of 2020 Salutatorian. She received several academic honors and theater awards throughout her high school career. Haley will be attending Northern Arizona University with a double major in forestry/conservation. She will also be serving a mission.
Daniel Kim Oachs-Pablo
Daniel has been attending school with the Maricopa School District from kindergarten all the way through his Senior year. Daniel is a member of the neighboring Ak-Chin Community.
